ViewFromVegas.com owner Dave Tuley has covered most every major handicapping tournament in Vegas since 1998 (and some in Reno). He has covered all 16 finals of the Daily Racing Form/NTRA National Handicapping Championship, though he just Tweeted about the most recent one on Jan. 23-25, 2015, at Treasure Island, though he wrote a short recap in his "Tuesdays With Tuley" column at ESPN.com.
Click this link to his story on the other major year-end tourney, the Horse Player World Series at the Orleans, which was held March 27-29, 2014, and won by Christian Hellmers of the "Horseplayers" TV show

2015 Belmont/TC (Wynn 5-18)

2015 BC Classic (Wynn 5-11)
2015 BC Distaff (Wynn 5-11)

2015 Horse of the Year (William Hill 5-11)
