Year-end tourneys
ViewFromVegas.com owner Dave Tuley has covered most every major handicapping tournament in Vegas since 1998 (and some in Reno). He has covered all 15 finals of the Daily Racing Form/NTRA National Handicapping Championship, though he just Tweeted about the most recent one on Jan. 24-26, 2014, at Treasure Island.

Click this link to his story on the other major year-end tourney, the Horse Player World Series at the Orleans, which was held March 27-29, 2014, and won by Christian Hellmers of the "Horseplayers" TV show

BC Coverage
For a look at how ViewFromVegas.com previewed championship weekend, go to our dedicated Breeders' Cup Page. We look forward to doing it next fall with the races again at Santa Anita.

Futures
William Hill recently received approval from the Gaming Control Board to offer odds for the Horse of the Year Eclipse Award (Nevada has long prohibited any wagers based on voting -- such as elections, Oscars, MVP, Heisman, etc., but 2 years ago said it would allow those but only being granted approval on  a case-by-case basis). Here is this week's updated sheet after the Belmont Stakes:

2014 Horse of the Year Eclipse (William Hill 7-21)

With the Kentucky Derby behind us, the next big future book is for the Breeders' Cup. John Avello at the Wynn has odds up for the Classic and will add more races later this spring and throughout the summer with the Juvenile races usually going up around Labor Day:

2014 BC Classic & Distaff (Wynn 7-9)
